My Visit to the Eiffel Tower in Paris (Texas)

This past weekend was spent with our family at Broken Bow, Oklahoma. To say it was a wonderful time would be grossly understated for quality time with family is what life is all about.

Now to the Eiffel Tower in Paris, Texas.

While returning from our wonderful time in Broken Bow, we decided to visit the advertised Eiffel Tower in Paris, Texas and sure enough, there is an Eiffel Tower in Paris, Texas. It is a little smaller than the more famous tower but it was there.

Adjacent to the less than life size tower was something much more memorable; the most beautiful War Memorial I have ever had the pleasure to visit.

During our walk through this beautiful memorial park, we met a charming gentleman who introduced himself to us and proudly pointed out a placard etched with his name and additional information about his service to our country.

The pride of his service to our United States was quite evident as he shared with us information that only a proud member of our armed forces could share. His devotion to our country reflected the dedication and sacrifice of all who have served in order to keep our country free.

During our visit, Mr. Fletcher told me stories about his brother who had also served.

He took me over to one of the displays and told me how his brother had served as a Military Working Dog Handler and described how during one night on his post, his keen eared canine companion detected an unusual sound and alerted its handler to approaching danger. The passion and sincerity with which this wonderful man shared his stories made a lasting impression which I will remember for a very long time.

My short time spent visiting with Mr. Fletcher was without doubt one of the best moments on our trip to Broken Bow, Oklahoma and our visit to the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
